Talk title: Energy Security vs. Food Security: The Battle of Solar Projects for FarmlandBiography:Ayal Kimhi is Sir Henry d'Avigdor Goldsmid Professor of Agricultural Economics and a member of the Department of Environmental Economics and Management in the School of Environmental Sciences at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Hebrew University. He is also Vice President and Head of Research at the Shoresh Institution for Socioeconomic Research. He previously served as Deputy Director of the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel and as Director of Research at the Center for Agricultural Economic Research. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago (1991), and has published more than 60 articles in refereed journals, including Science Advances, Food Policy, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and The Econometrics Journal. His research spans the fields of Public Policy, Environmental Economics, Agricultural Economics, Labor Economics, Family Economics, Education Economics, and Development Economics.
